Job Description

DMI is looking for a full-time Contracting and Commissions Specialist for our Insurance Operations team. In this role a candidate would split responsibilities, as necessary, between licensing and contracting, and a variety of commissions related functions. You would work along with New Business Case Management, Contracting, and Commissions team members to support our financial professionals. If your qualifications are deemed to be a good fit for our organization, you will be considered regardless of geographic location as a candidate to work remotely.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining current contracting data in our CMS (contract level, hierarchy, etc.)
  • Ensuring hierarchy information is correct and up to date
  • Reviewing contracting and appointment paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Processing contract paperwork with life and annuity carriers
  • Notifying agents and/or recruiters of missing paperwork
  • Working directly with agents regarding contracting materials and appointment process
  • Assisting with onboarding of new agents
  • Maintaining a variety of broker dealer contracting requirements
  • Taking ownership of maintaining carrier commission schedules
  • Reconciling commission statements / working with commissions vendor
  • Working with agents on commission inquiries and issues
  • Calculating commissions monthly for internal sales consultants
  • Ensuring all SLA’s are met consistently
  • Various reporting tasks
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3+ years experience in an insurance contracting and/or commissions role
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Ability to anticipate problems and come up with solutions without explicit guidance
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest process improvements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Capable of working independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a self-directed fashion
  • General knowledge of financial services, specifically annuity and life insurance business
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
