A fieldmarketing organization (FMO) is a company that connects thousands of independent insurance agents with insurance carriers of all sizes. Generally speaking, FMOs are licensed to sell insurance products in a majority of states in the U.S., sometimes all states. Through these arrangements, individual agents typically benefit from higher commissions.
On the surface an FMO isn’t much different than an independent marketing organization (IMO).
